H. Furlong. Mrs. Elizabeth Laughlin, mother-in-law of W. H. Furlong, died at the latter's residence, 843 Eighth avenue, at 5:20 this morning. The deceased was in her 89th year, and died of old age. She was the mother of 10 children, four of whom are living--Mrs. W. H. Furlong and Wm. Laughlin, of Homestead; Elias, of Massilon, O., and Alexander, of Coal Valley. Deceased came to this section about 50 years ago, and has lived hereabouts continnously ever since. The funeral services will be conducted at the residence of Mr. Furlong on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Franklin cemetery. The Messanger August 23, 1898 Leaves 130 Descendants Mrs. Elizabeth Laughlin, who was buried last Sunday from the residence of her son-in-law, W. H. Furlong, leaves a large number of descendants to mourn her departure. Of a family of ten children six are still living; 51 grandchilddren, of whom six were her pallbearers, and 75 great grandchildren are also among the bereaved. Mr. Furlong and wife are very grateful for the sympathy and kindnesses showered upon them in their trouble, and desire to thank all who lent assistance. Special mention is made of the pastor and his choir and the undertaker for their services. ************************************************ Please note that the obituary says Elizabeth is buried in Franklin Cemetery while the Death Record says Homestead.
