A. LEWIS, was probably fatally injured on Monday evening when she was run down in front of the residence of her grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. W. B. SMILEY by an automobile driven by John A. HOXSWORTH of Canonsburg. She was picked up and taken to the office of Dr. J. M. PATTERSON, at Imperial, where medical attention was given. She was found to have sustained a fractured skull and to be terribly bruised about the body. She was unconscious for several hours. Later she was removed to her grandparents' home. The little girl lives with her parents in Elizabeth and she and her mother were visiting at the SMILEY home. She was walking with her mother along the side of the road when the accident occurred. The automobile, going at a rapid rate, came to near them and struck the girl. She was knocked in front of the car and dragged for some distance.
