These were two of the victims of that accident. ** from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Monday, October 11, 1880 (page 1): The casualty bore most heavily upon residents of Edgewood station. Two sons of Mr John S LOVE, who was for many years resident engineer of the company, were instantly killed. They had gone home in the evening, intending to visit the Exposition, but having some doubt as to whether they could get supper and make the train they intended to take, were urged by Mrs LOVE to hurry up, so she would see that supper was ready for them. They -------ingly got ready and started. They were in the wrecked car in their return. Their bodies were taken by Mr WARD, undertaker, of the South Side, by order of the Coroner, and when friends went over there to have them sent back to Devore's that they might be coffined to sending home, he gave them up very reluctantly and wanted to know who was to pay for the expenses already incurred. The bodies reached Devore's about 11 o'clock Sunday -------- and were sent home on an extra train in the evening. These two boys were as manly as boys could be, and were highly esteemed by their acquaintances. One of them was his mother's pet, and her double bereavement has fallen with crushing weight upon her. The whole family have the deepest sympathy in their great sorrow. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: Isaac LOVE, age 17 years, single, clerk, died October 10, 1880; son of John S and Annie LOVE; born in Sterritt Township; burial in Allegheny Cemetery on October 12, 1880.
