With life's work well done and his race well won, he was called by the angel of death March 24th, 1922 at 5:30 o'clock after a sickness of many weeks. Mr. LOWTHER was a great sufferer, but a very patient one. About three weeks ago he underwent an operation in the Eye, Ear and Throat hospital for mastoid trouble, and from that time on he seemed to be relieved of the terrible pain he had been suffering for weeks, and was able to be down town. On Thursday he was again stricken with this terrible pain, and specialists and a nurse were rushed from the city, but all in vain, for God had mapped His plan. Mr. LOWTHER was born February 15, 1884 and was just passed his 38th birthday. In November 1913 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary PEDICORD, and to this union was born two children, a son and a daughter. Mr. LOWTHER was a foreman of the Pipe Line division of the Pure Oil company, a member of the First Presbyterian church and of class 14 of the Sabbath school; also of the I. O. O. F., Knights of Malta and the Jr. O. W. A. M. orders. These bodies were present at the funeral services. Mr. LOWTHER was a stockholder in the Pure Oil Co. He had many friends because he was a friend to everyone, always willing to lend a helping hand, and his devotion to his wife and children deserves mentioning. He was loved by all his fellow workmen, and a large wheel of flowers with on broken spoke represented his circle of workmen. Large beautiful floral pieces were sent by the Pure Oil company, I. O. O. F., Jr. O. U. A. M., Knights of Malta, S. S. club, Westminster Guild, Class 14 of the Presbyterian church, and many others, expressing their sympathy by these emblems. The funeral service was held on Monday afternoon in the Presbyterian church, at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. W. D. LEWIS, assisted by Rev. H. A. MOSSER of Crafton. The Rev. H. A. MOSSER and Rev. LEWIS each gave very fitting talks. Rev. LEWIS paid a beautiful tribute to Mr. LOWTHER, also to his devote wife for her faithfulness and trust in her God. Mr. LOWTHER is survived by his wife and two children, Donald, seven years old, and Dorothy Anna, two years old, also four sisters, Mrs. Fred STOCHR and Mrs. William GREEN of Woodsfield, Ohio; Mrs. D. MANN, of Claysville; Mrs. Flare DAILY of East Liverpool, Ohio, and three brothers, John W. Claysville, James W., Woodsfield, Ohio, and George T., of Conneaut Lake. Interment was in the Oakdale cemetery.
