He had been ill for some time, being confined to the house for over four months. The cause of his death was brights disease. Mr LYON was born in Center county 42 years ago. While living there he was prominent in business affairs of the county, having been connected with a large blast furnace. His connection with Firth-Sterling company has been of 10 years' duration. Mr LYON married a daughter of Joseph McKNIGHT, who survives him with five children. Mr LYON was a member of the Third Presbyterian church. Funeral services were held at his residence this afternoon. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: John S LYON, aged 43 years, married, accountant, died January 5, 1899, chronic brights disease; son of S Stewart and Anna V LYON; born in Bellefonte PA; lived at 730 Summerlea Street; burial in Homewood Cemetery on January 6, 1899. NOTES: Wife is Margaret. The site for Homewood Cemetery does not list an interment for John. Margaret died a few months after her husband, and her notice states that she was buried in Bellefonte. Perhaps John was re-interred at a later date.
