from The Pittsburgh Gazette dated Wednesday, October 5, 1904 (page 6):
 
J L LYONS, aged 59, a traveling salesman of New London, Conn., died
yesterday morning at the Allegheny General hospital of a complication
of diseases. He was taken to the hospital from Vandergrift a week
ago.
 
from the Allegheny City Death Records:
 
J S LYON, age 59 years, married, salesman, died October 4, 1904; son
of Robert and Mary A LYON; born in New London CT; burial in Highwood
Cemetery on October 6, 1904.
 
NOTES - From census records, he is most likely Joseph L LYON of New London CT.
