Her death came after a short illness of heart trouble. She was born in Lockport, N Y, 72 years ago, and when 16 years of age removed to this city. She was one of the first charter members of the First Christian church, Allegheny. Two daughters survive - Mrs McMULLEN and Mrs H C SIMMS of Huntington, W Va. One son, William H LYONS, now serving in the Philippines, is a lieutenant in the Twenty-eighth infantry. Funeral services will be held at 8 o'clock this evening and interment will take place at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning. from the Allegheny City Death Records: Mrs Mary A LYONS, aged 71 years 2 months 11 days, died April 9, 1901, valvular disease of heart; daughter of James McAULEY; born in Lockport NY; lived at 1225 Buena Vista; burial in Allegheny Cemetery on April 11, 1901. NOTE: According to the Allegheny Cemetery site, interment was in Section 26, Lot 4. Daughters are Mary (Mrs McMULLEN) and Katherine (Mrs SIMMS).
