He was born at Naples, Ontario county, N Y, in 1850, and most of his life was spent at Buffalo. He came to Allegheny in 1897 as an agent for a manufacturing firm. His wife and three sons, Arthur A, Irving D, and Robert S LYON, survive. from the Allegheny City Death Records: S Duane LYON, aged 51 years 8 months 27 days, married, shoe dealer, died September 14, 1901, neuralgia of bowels and stomach; son of Simon and Julia LYON; born in Naples, Ontario County, NY; lived on Cedar Avenue; burial in a Naples NY cemetery. NOTES - Burial was in Rose Ridge Cemetery in Naples NY. Father's name is probably Simeon.
