Mrs. Catherine SHEPLEY MARTIN, aged 86 years, widow of William 
MARTIN, died at her home in Bulger Tuesday morning, March 15th, 1921 at 7 
o'clock. Her death was caused by heart trouble and followed an illness of 
several days.
 
She was a native of Snowden township, Allegheny county, but had 
been a resident of this section for man years. For a number of years, the 
family resided on a farm near here but 18 years ago Mr. MARTIN retired from 
the farm and the family removed to this place. Mr. MARTIN died 10 years 
ago.
 
Mrs. MARTIN was a well known and highly respected resident of 
this place and was an active member of the First Presbyterian church of 
Burgettstown.
 
She is survived by four children: John A. MARTIN at home; James 
S. MARTIN, on the home farm; Mrs. Mary WATTERS, of Oakdale, and Mrs. Sarah 
SNYDER of Alliance, O. Twenty-two grandchildren and nine 
great-grandchildren also survive.
 
Funeral services, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. M. HAYS, of 
Burgettstown will be held at her late home Thursday morning at 11 o'clock. 
The interment will be in the Fairview cemetery, Burgettstown.
