from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Saturday, March 8, 1879 (page 4):
 
MATTHEWS - Mrs Anna MATTHEWS, on March 7th, in her 78th year. Funeral
from the residence of her daughter, Mrs M R NOBLE, 38th street, 15th
ward, city, at 3 o'clock Sunday.
 
from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records:
 
Annie MATHEWS, aged 78 years, widow, died March 7, 1879, cancer; born
in Philadelphia; lived at 38th Street; burial in Allegheny Cemetery on
March 9, 1879.
 
NOTES: Allegheny Cemetery site notes an Annie MATHEWS interment in
Section 32, Lot 14. Census listings show husband William and daughter
Maria R and note that Anna was born in Delaware.
