All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny/ ________________________________________________ from The Pittsburgh Press dated Sunday, February 21, 1897 (page 2): Alfred McCONNELL, aged 17 years, who died at noon yesterday in the Allegheny General hospital from injuries received by being run over by a train on the Pittsburg, Fort Wayne & Chicago railroad at Sewickley last Thursday, was a son of Robert A McCONNELL, of Grant avenue, Woods Run, Allegheny, and a cousin of James McCONNELL, the Allegheny boy who was murdered last year by his uncle, William C RICHTER. McCONNELL was a member of the North Avenue methodist episcopal church and a general favorite of all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at the residence at 3:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The interment will be in Uniondale cemetery. from the Allegheny City Death Records: Robert Alfred McCONNELL, aged 16 years, died February 20, 1897, from injuries received on the railroad; son of Robert A and Elvira McCONNELL; born in Connellsville, Pa.; burial in Union Dale Cemetery on February 22, 1897. Had known siblings Cyrus, Della and Elvira. James McCONNELL was killed on June 13, 1896.
