On Christmas morning he arrived in that city with his son on a visit to relatives. On Saturday he went into McCauley's barber shop, on Iron street. He was accompanied by his brother-in-law, William Turner. The chairs were filled and they sat down to wait their turn. Mr. Turner picked up a paper and was reading it when he heard McGuire breathing heavily. He looked at him and noticed that his eyes were rolling strangely in their sockets and had an unnatural glare. He made an exclamation at the same time taking McGuire's hand. The other persons in the shop gathered around, a messenger was sent for a physician and two responded. They found the sufferer in a dying condition and in five minutes he was dead. Apoplexy was the cause of death. The deceased was 40 years of age, a widower and leaves eight children.
