The teachers, Miss Jennie CAINEY and Miss KINNEY succeeded in getting the pupils out in safety. Mr. Edward MCKISSIC, who lives near the school entered the burning building to save what he could; when he started back the last time, some begged of him not to go but he was one who never shirked what he felt was his duty, and as he entered the burning building the roof caved in and there was not any chance to rescue him. After the fire abated the body as found and removed to the MARSHALL undertaking rooms.
