He was born in Ohio and came to Pittsburgh when a young man. He resided there twenty-five years and the moved to Oakdale, engaging in the carpenter trade. He was well known in this locality. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. John MILLER, at Walkers Mills, and interment was in the Oakdale cemetery. Besides Mrs. MILLER, another sister, Mrs. Albert MCELHANEY of North Fayette township, survives. ****************************************************************** Taken from McDonald Pa Outlook 02 Dec 1916 John Parker MILLER, aged 74, died Sunday in a Pittsburgh hospital of tuberculosis. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of a sister, Mrs. John MILLER (sic) of Walkers Mill, and interment was in the Oakdale cemetery. Besides Mrs. MILLER, another sister, Mrs. Albert MCELHANEY, of North Fayette township also survives.
