from The Pittsburgh Press dated August 9, 1896 (page 2):
 
Mrs Katherine MILLER died at the West Penn hospital last evening from
injuries received by being struck by a train on the West Penn railroad
at Pine Creek bridge yesterday. The deceased resided at No. 40 Second
street, Allegheny, and was 40 years of age.
 
from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records:
 
Mary MILLER, aged 48 years, widow, died August 8, 1896, in West Penn
Hospital from injuries received on WPRR; born in Allegheny City;
resided at 2nd Street, Allegheny City; burial in St John's Cemetery on
August 11, 1896.
 
City directory identifies her as Kate MILLER, widow of John.
