MORGAN, and almost a life-long resident of South Fayette Township, Allegheny county died at the St. Francis hospital, Pittsburgh, after a four week's illness, at 3:30 a.m. Friday, aged 76 years. Mr. MORGAN, a son of James and Elizabeth ___DMAN MORGAN, late of South Fayette Township, was born in that township, where he resided practically all his life. In the year 1862, Mr. MORGAN volunteered his services in defense of his country, becoming a member of company K, of the First Pennsylvania Reserves cavalry regiment, where he served until the close of the war. About the year 1873 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary FARRAR, daughter of Judge John FARRAR. Mr. and Mrs. MORGAN began housekeeping on the old MORGAN homestead, where they resided continuously until the death of Mrs. MORGAN, which occurred about 13 years ago, since which time Mr. MORGAN had resided a part of the time in Carnegie. He was engages successfully at farming and stock raising, and also in buying and selling stock. In politics Mr. MORGAN was a staunch Republican, and in religion a Presbyterian, being for many years a member of the First Presbyterian church of Carnegie. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Alexander, of Tulsa, Okla. and Mrs. Jessie GARDNER, of Carnegie; three sons, George MORGAN, residing on the home farm; Edward of Philadelphia, and John of Los Angeles, Calif., also a sister, Mrs. Margaret FIFE, of Clifton, Allegheny county, and three brothers, S. W. MORGAN, of Marshallstown, Iowa; W. P. and John C. of Canonsburg. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Presbyterian church at Carnegie in charge of the Rev. Mr. DUFF. Interment was in Bridgeville.
