His foot caught in a frog, and before the train could be stopped NICHOLSON was knocked down and many cars passed over him. He was taken to the South Side hospital, where he died a few minutes after he arrived. He was single, and his parents resided in Allegheny. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: Frank NICHOLSON, age 25 years, single, railroad brakeman, died March 27, 1900, shock due to crushing of legs on railroad; son of Gilbert and Margaret NICHOLSON (he from Allegheny, she from Ireland); born in Allegheny; lived in Allegheny City; burial in Calvary Cemetery on March 29, 1900.
