Ochiltree, 69, over many years a well-known layman in our Pittsburgh churches and a generous supported of missions, died May 31, in his home, 624 Pitcairn Place, Shadyside. Mr. Ochiltree was raised at Morning Sun, Iowa, served in the Spanish- American War, and later became the distributor of General Electric appliances in the Pittsburgh area. For 18 years until 1944 he was owner of the Ochiltree Electric company here. Mr. Ochiltree was a faithful steward of the wealth with which God blessed him, often carrying out his benevolence in a way that noe but a few intimate friends knew. At the time of his decease he was a member of the East Liberty Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Ochiltree died September 6, 1950. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Charles W. Fulton of Steubenville, Ohio, Mrs. H. Parker Sharp, Mrs. C. A. Hawk, Jr., Mrs. G. Thomas Ewing, Jr., of Pittsburgh, and by nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the East Liberty Presbyterian Church June 4 and burial was in the Allegheny cemetery.
