He was born in Germany and had lived 40 years in the Pittsburgh district. He was a member of St. James' Roman Catholic Church and the Westinghouse Veteran, Association. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Rose Letgens Potthoff; two sons; Theodore Potthoff, of Pittsburgh and Edward Potthoff, of Cleveland; four daughter: Mrs. Rose Winkler, of the North Side; Mrs Stella Schleicher. of Philadelphia; Mrs. Mary Guth, of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Raymond Johnson, of Wilkinsburg; four brothers; Henry and John Potthoff, of Latrobe; Pius Potthoff, of McKeesport, and Theodore Potthoff, of Latrobe; three sisters, Miss Mary Potthoff and two others, in Germany, and 16 grandchildren.
