Olive, on the hill opposite side of the Monongahelia, was looking out the second story window of her house, about four o'clock, to see how the fire in her oven was burning, when she was struck by the fluid and killed instantly. She leaves her husband and a family of five children. NOTE: The death of Emily Drake Prescott was noted on the 1860 PA census at the bottom of the page, written by the census taker and it states that "Mrs. Emily Prescot killed by lightening, Aug 7th, 1860."
