All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny/ ________________________________________________ from The Pittsburgh Press dated Saturday, August 30 1890 (page 4): C PARKER, a brakeman, was killed at Becks run by a Pittsburg, McKeesport & Youghiogheny train. from The Pittsburgh Dispatch dated Saturday, August 30 1890 (page 2): Her Engaged Husband Killed Charles PARKER, a Pittsburg & Lake Erie brakeman, living on Forrester street, near Kaercher, on Four Mile run, was run over and killed by a train on the "Pemicky" road at Beck's run, about 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He was working about the train at the time, and was knocked down. The cars passed over his body, and when picked up, life was extinct. The body was removed to the morgue, and about 9:30 o'clock last night a young woman dressed in black called to see the body. She said she was engaged to PARKER, and their wedding was to come off next month. Members of sister councils are invited to attend. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: Charles PARKER, aged 24 years, single, brakeman, died August 29 1890, crushed on railroad; born in Pittsburgh; lived in 23rd Ward; burial in Homewood Cemetery on August 31 1890.
