PATTERSON - Elizabeth A, wife of John Z PATTERSON (nee METCALF), in
her 40th year. Funeral services Sunday, September 3, at 2 o'clock,
from her late residence, Elizabeth street, Thirty-eighth ward, city.
Friends of the family respectfully invited to attend.
 
from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records:
 
Elizabeth A PATTERSON, aged 39 years 8 months 2 days, married, died
September 1 1899, typhoid fever; daughter of William and Elizabeth
METCALF (both from England); born in PA; lived on Elizabeth Street;
burial in West Liberty Cemetery on September 3 1899.
 
Census notes that she had two known sons, John W and Harry W. Earlier
census listings suggest that her mother may have been a Sarah, born in
NY.
