She had a large number of friends who mourn her demise. Miss PETERS, the telegraph operator in the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, who had her hand so badly lacerated by being struck by a train, near Lawrenceville, a few days ago, died on Sunday from the effects of her injuries. The intention was to amputate her arm, but she never rallied from the shock. PETERS - On Sunday morning at ?:?? o'clock, Virginia, daughter of Samuel G PETERS, aged twenty-one years and eleven months. The friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the residence of her parents, "Denny House", Lawrenceville station, Pennsylvania Railroad, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Carriages will leave Devore's on Grant street at 1:15 pm. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: Virginia PETERS, aged 21 years, single, telegraph operator, died June 25, 1877, septicima after railroad accident; born in Deer Creek; lived on 33rd Street; burial in Allegheny Cemetery on June 26, 1877.
