On his person was found a book asking that in case of accident to him word be sent to J F PIFER of Braddock. (under an article titled, Echoes of the Night) from the Allegheny City Death Records: William PIPER, age 34 years, single, bridge builder, died on September 6, 1897, killed on West Penn Railroad near Tarentum; burial in Braddock PA cemetery on September 9, 1897. >From census records, William may be the son of John and Elizabeth PIFER of Braddock. On the Tom and Nancy McAdams cemetery site, there is a William PIFER 1865-1897 noted at Monongahela Cemetery in North Braddock.
