Robert had not been in good health since he arrived from oversea, but seemed more seriously about two weeks before his death. A few days before Easter he was able to take short walks and on Easter Sunday was in good spirits and was able to attend the Easter services. His many friends were shocked to learn of his death. Robert was a member of the Y. M. C. A. at Sewickley, Pa. and during the World war he served in the 351st Field Artillery, Buffalo Division. He enlisted at the age of 21 years and after training at Camp Meade went overseas and was assigned to Battery E. 351st Field Artillery. This unit served in the Marbache Sector from October 30 1918 until the signing of the Armistice. He was discharged at Camp Dix, N. J, February 10, 1919 receiving an honorable discharge that any soldier could feel proud of. Besides his mother and father, he is survived by three brothers, Frank and Edward, at home and Wesley POLLARD of Oakdale, and a sister Mary. A military funeral was held on Sunday afternoon in the United Presbyterian church. Interment was in the Clinton cemetery.
