W. A. PORTER

  Mr. W. A. Porter died yesterday at the residence of his brother-in-law, 
Mr. John H. Smitley, No. 233 Locust Street, Allegheny, aged 20 years.  The 
deceased, about two weeks ago, went to the house of Mr. Smitley to take tea, 
and became ill suddenly, growing worse rapidly until death ended his sufferings.  
Mr. Porter held the position of assistant bookkeeper at the house of Reymer Bros., 
and was a young man of fine attainments and noble impulses.  He was a son of Mary 
Porter and Mr. W. P. Porter, of Park, Long & Co.  The funeral will take place 
from the house of Mr. Smitley at a time to be announced hereafter.
