from The Pittsburgh Press dated Friday, January 27 1893  (page 4):

Miss (sic) Mary Ann POWELL, widow of Luke POWELL, of Staffordshire,
England, died at her home, 3427 Ridge street, Thirteenth ward,
yesterday.  She was a woman who reared up a family of children who
will honor her memory long after her death.

from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records:

Mary A POWELL, aged 54 years, widowed, died January 25 1893,
pneumonia; daughter of Ann R COMPTON of England; born in England;
lived at 3427 Ridge Street; burial in Allegheny Cemetery on January 28
1893.
