from The Pittsburgh Press dated Tuesday, September 18, 1894 (page 4):
 
John SCOTT, a veteran policeman, in the Ft Wayne yards, on Eleventh
street, was killed by a shifting engine. He had been in the employ of
the company 25 years. He was 60 years old. (under an article titled,
Echoes of the Night)
 
 
 
from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records:
 
Andrew Jackson SCOTT, age 61 years, married, railroad policeman, died
September 17, 1894, killed on the tracks of the PFW&C railroad; son of
Joseph and Hester SCOTT; born in Washington County PA; burial in
Allegheny Cemetery on September 19, 1894.
 
Allegheny Cemetery notes an Andrew J SCOTT in Section 39, Lot 86.
 
>From various records, it appears that he married Julia Ann Porter in
1881. He was mainly known as Jackson, though at times used Joseph,
and was a Civil War veteran.
