The young man was started for Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh, but died in an automobile at a point near Carnegie. One of the horses was killed instantly; the other dropped dead while being taken to the stable. The horses belonged to Park HICKMAN, near Bridgeville, by whom young SHULTZ was employed. Work was being done on a road at Treveskyn, and as the driver of the dump wagon was about to unload a quantity of earth which was being hauled for a fill the whole side of the road, which at that point runs along the top of an embankment, gave way, the driver, horses and wagon were carried down the thirty feet. The accident is believed to have been caused by the heavy rains of this week, which saturated the earth and caused the bank to give way. The boy was pinned beneath the wagon and his scull (sic) was fractured. A woman nearby, noticing the earth beginning to give way called to the young man to leap from the wagon. Whether he heard the warning is not known. J. J. WALLACE, who soon reached the scene of the accident, summoned aid and the boy was started for the hospital a short time afterward. Young SHULTZ is one of a family of 12 children, his death being the second in the family.
