These two were among the victims of that accident. ** from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Monday, October 11, 1880 (page 1): Miss Maggie SCHUSLER was the daughter of Wm (sic) SCHUSLER, butcher, living on Frankstown avenue, Twenty-first ward. She was almost eighteen years of age, and was an accomplished and lovely young woman. She was a member of the Lutheran church on Smithfield street. Her death resulted from the steam. She was taken out of the car window by a young gentleman who knew her. When she got out, she walked to James KERNSTEIN's drug store, corner of Twenty-eighth and Penn streets. She seemed in excellent spirits and chatted on the way - devoutly expressing her thanks that she had so miraculously escaped. At the drug store, she sang a sacred song once, and she was put into a carriage and driven home. When she arrived there her attendants proceeded to remove her clothing, and with the garments great portions of her flesh came off. It was then found that she had been fatally scalded. She died about four o'clock yesterday morning. James McMEEKIN was a laborer and boarded at Dallas Station. He was about forty years of age. He had no relatives here, and the remains were taken in charge by Mr John McCULLY. from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Monday, October 11, 1880 (page 4): SCHUSLER - On Sunday morning at half past 5 o'clock, Maggie, daughter of the late Peter and Margaret SCHUSLER, aged 18 years, 6 months and 24 days.
