Sims, 554 E. 8th Ave., Tarentum, died several hours later, at 11:25, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Mrs. Sims and her daughter, Mrs. Lou Boda, and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ralph W. Sims Jr., both of Tarentum, were attending the Halloween Card Frolic of the Tarentum Eastern Star in Tarentum American Legion Home, when Mrs. Sims became ill. Tarentum Firemen's ambulance was summoned and she was taken to the hospital where death was attributed to a possible heart attack. Mrs. Sims had resided her entire lifetime in Tarentum, where she was born on March 25, 1898, to the late T. K. and Minnie E. Bricker Ross. Always active in church and women's organizations, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Tarentum; Tarentum Order of the Eastern Star, and Tarentum Chapter of Blue Star Mothers. She was also a charter member of Rhodes Sisterhood Dames of Malta and its Protectors Association. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are 10 children: Mrs. Howard (Connie) Baker and Mrs. Lloyd (Audrey) Wilson Jr., Lowrer Burrell; Mrs. Lou (Betty Jane) Boda, Ralph W. Jr., Richard, Robert, Mrs. Henry (Eileen) Geahry and William, all of Tarentum; Mrs. Anthony (Carol) Licata, Arnold, and James at home. She also leaves a brother, Rev. L. LaVerne Ross, D.D., Fort Smith, Ark.; three sisters: Mrs. Vyda Reynolds, Richmond, Ind.; Mrs. Wilivene Imm, Weirton, W. Va., and Mrs. Vivian Knablekamp, Bufflao, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. --- The family will receive friends in the Albert H. Duster Funeral Home, 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum. Services Saturday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home will be conducted by her paster, Rev. Robert E. Andreen. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Dorseyville. Additional Comments: Knablekamp is definately misspelled. Should be Knabelkamp. I believe that Wilivene is also incorrectly spelled. Should be Willavene.
