from The Pittsburgh Press dated Monday, November 29, 1897 (page 8):
 
STEGER - On Monday morning, November 29, at 6:15 am, Arthur Herman
STEGER, son of Herman and Bertha STEGER, aged 22 years 6 months and 7
days. Funeral services at the family residence, McKee place,
Perrysville avenue, Allegheny, at 2 pm Wednesday, December 1, 1897.
Interment private.
 
 
from the Allegheny City Death Records:
 
Arthur STEGER, aged 22 years, single, bookkeeper, died November 29,
1897, of typhoid fever; born in Germany; son of Herman and Bertha
STEGER; burial in Voegtly Cemetery on December 1, 1897.
 
 
Bertha and children Margarethe, Paul, Arthur, and Elise came to US in
1881. According to Paul's death record, Bertha's birth surname was
SCHULTZ.
