These two were among the victims of that accident. ** from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Wednesday, October 13, 1880 (page 4): Miss STEINBAUGH, who was badly scalded, is still living, but there is only faint hope of her recovery. from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Friday, October 15, 1880 (page 4): Miss Mary STEINBAUGH, a passenger on (unreadable) a ill fated train, died from the effects of the scalding steam at the West Penn Hospital last evening. By her demise, the death roll has increased to thirty. Miss STEINBAUGH was severely burned, and the wonder is that she lived so long. This last victim of the awful disaster was a daughter of policeman John STEINBAUGH and a cousin of Miss Rose McCABE, who died on Monday last. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: Mary STEINBAUGH, age 30 years, married, died October 14, 1880; born in Hamburg, Germany; lived in Pittsburgh; burial in Allegheny Cemetery on October 16, 1880. (The Allegheny Cemetery site notes a burial of a Mary STEINBACH in 1880 in Section 33, Lot 157, Grave 4.) James O'NEIL, age 20 years, laborer, died October 10, 1880; son of Thomas O'NEIL; born and lived in California, Washington County; burial in California, Washington County on October 13, 1880. James O'NEIL was listed on the casualty reports in the paper but I did not find any further write-up.
