Roy Stewart, of Turtle Creek, died yesterday morning at the Altoona hospital after a long illness, dropsy being the immediate cause of death. She was aged 49 years, her maiden name being Miss Florence Bradley. She was twice married and is survived by her husband, W. Roy Stewart and by one son, John Foster, of Detroit and two daughters, Mrs. Earl Martz, of Detroit and Mrs. Margaret Doby, of Wilkinsburg. She has not been in good health for some time and was brought to the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Mattern of Canoe Creek, uncle and aunt of Mrs. Stewart, early in August in the hope that the change of residence from the city to the country would help her regain her health, but she steadily grew worse and was admitted to the Altoona hospital three weeks ago. The body was prepared for burial and taken to the home of George Mattern at Canoe Creek, where funeral services will be conducted in the United Brethren church on Sunday afternoon. Interment will be made in the Canoe Creek cemetery. Altoona Times, Friday Morning, October 4, 1918
