His head was so badly hurt that he remained unconscious until death. It was necessary to cut off his right leg and left arm. He was a section boss, 28 years old. William MICKEY, a freight brakeman on the Pennsylvania railroad, was instantly killed about 5:30 pm yesterday while trying to couple cars in the Twenty-eighth street yard. He was 41 years old and had a wife and five children in Derry. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: Jerry SULLIVAN, about 28 years of age, single, laborer, died October 16, 1896, at West Penn Hospital from injuries received on PRR at 16th Street; lived in Pittsburgh; burial in Highwood Cemetery on October 30, 1896. William MICKEY, age 43 years, married, flagman, died October 16, 1896, instantly killed on PRR at 28th Street; son of Robert and Lucinda MICKEY (he from PA, she from WVA); born in Ligonier PA; burial in Derry Station PA on October 18, 1896.
