W. WASHABAUGH, Center avenue, Oakdale, after a long suffering illness of many weeks, although not confined to his bed until the past week. Mr. THOMPSON was in his 79th year, born February 24, 1941 at Portsmouth, Ohio and was a Civil war veteran. On June 24, 1862, he enlisted in Co. C, 91 Reg. Ohio Vol. Inf. and was made corporal and served until the close of the war when he received his honorable discharge June 24, 1865, then being a sergeant. Mr. THOMPSON was a rig builder all his life and a man of fine qualities, never indulging in anything that would be abusive to the body; a man with a quiet disposition yet a beautiful character. In March 1913, Mrs. THOMPSON died. He leaves to mourn his loss, two daughters, Mrs. George WASHABAUGH of Oakdale and Mrs. John GROVES of Cleveland; and two sons, R. M., Jr., of Cleveland and F. C. of Louisiana; also eleven grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret WALLS/WELLS? and Mrs. Annabell CARTER of Sedan, Ohio. The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. W. D. _____. Interment was in the Oakdale cemetery.
