He was 51 years of age. from The Pittsburgh Dispatch dated Saturday, January 25, 1890 (page 5): VENSEL - At the residence of his sister-in-law, Mrs Dr HUNTINGTON, No. 63 Wylie avenue, on Thursday, 23d inst., John H VENSEL, late of Company H, Eighth Pennsylvania Reserves, and a member of Lookout Post No. 425, St Petersburg, Clarion co., Pa. Funeral services at the above named place, No. 63 Wylie avenue, on Sunday, January 26, at 2 o'clock pm. The family extend a cordial invitation to all comrades of the GAR to attend the services. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: John H VENSEL, aged 51 years 5 months 9 days, married, oil operator, died January 23, 1890, typhoid pneumonia; born in Petersburg, Clarion County, PA; lived at 63 Wylie Avenue; burial in Bellevue Cemetery on January 26, 1890. According to 1880 census, wife is Anna (may be Anna Elizabeth COLEMAN of Armstrong County PA). Bellevue Cemetery is now known as Highwood Cemetery.
