 Presbyterian banner. (Pittsburgh, Pa.): July 13, 1864
Died May 17th, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson, in the 96th year of her age. The deceased,
previous to her death, was the oldest member of the First. Presbyterian church of
this city… Early in life her husband died, leaving her a widow with six children...
She would frequently tell with a childish glee of her having taken a bouquet of
flowers to Gen. Washington, and of his kissing her and thanking her for her
kindness. She was watched over by the elders of the First Presbyterian church, and
by many kind and benevolent ladies…
