Born July 13, 1945 in Pittsburgh. Wife of James P. Walsh, Jr., West Mifflin; mother of Joan E. Coopie, West Mifflin, Catherine L. (Joseph) Hartnett, Carrick, Pittsburgh, Mary Beth (Dana) Smearman, Kottweiler- Schwander, Germany, James P. (Tammy) Walsh, III, West Mifflin; sister of Ruth Ann Graff, Knoxville, Pittsburgh, Michael (Terry) Battung, Carrick; sister-in-law of Francis Imhoff of Saxonsburg. 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. Daughter of the late Martin and Ruth Baney Battung. Also predeceased by one sister, Janet Inhoff and one brother, Robert Battung. Formerly employed by the Department of Aging as an Administrative Assistant at the Allegheny County Office Building. member of the Amity P resbyterian Church in Dravosburg. Former Sunday School Teacher and Volunteer for the church. Joan was also involved in arts and crafts and crocheted many articles. She was a High School graduate from South High, South Side, Pittsburgh. She was a CCAC West Mifflin graduate with an Associate Degree in Secretarial Sciences and Computers. Friends received at I.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 203 Fourth St., Dravosburg, 7-9 p.m. Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Monday at 10 a.m. from the Funeral Home, Rev. Bruce Mounts, officiating.
