(under the article title, Echoes of the Night) from the Allegheny City Death Records: William YECKEL, schoolboy, aged 9 years 2 months 22 days, died on July 31, 1897 from railroad injuries; lived at 33 Lautner street; son of August and Helena; buried in Voegtly Cemetery on August 2, 1897. Census records suggests the surname is YECKEL. August & Hannah YECKEL are on the 1900 census living at 33 Lautner street, Allegheny. City directories specifically name August and Hannah living at that address; surname is some variation of YECKEL or JECKEL. August appears to have died between 1900 and 1903.
