I, James Beatty, of Robinson Township, Allegheny County, and State of Pennsylvania, being weak of body, but sound in mind and memory, do make, ordain, and publish this, my last will and testament, as follows, to wit: First, I commend my soul to God, who gave it, hoping for a joyful resurrection thru the merits of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and my body I give to the earth, to be buried at the discretion of my executrix, herein after named Secondly: As to worldly property and estate, whatsoever kind the same may be, whether real, personal, or mixed, I give, devise, and bequeath the same and the whole thereof to my beloved wife Mary for her own use and at her own discretion for and during her natural life, and have full confidence in the discretion of my said wife. I do order and direct, and do give and bequeath my said property and estate after the decease of my said wife to such of our children, and in such proportion as she, under the circumstances may deem just and proper, as she may by her last will and testament or other act under her hand and seal direct, limit, and appoint, it being my express will that my said wife shall enjoy all during her life, and that at her death it shall be divided among our children, or such of them as she may think worthy, thereof and in such proportions as she or they may think fit And lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint my said wife, Mary, the sole executrix of this, my last will and testament, hereby revoking all or former wills by me heretofore made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this sixteenth day of January One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty three Signed James Beatty Signed and sealed and declared to be his last will and testament and published as such by the testator in the presence of us, who in his presence and at his request have hereunto set our names as witnesses.
