I, John Beattie, a citizen of the Eighth Ward of Pitttsburgh, and Allegheny County and State of Prnnsylvania. I do make this my last Will and Testament, being sound in mind, but infirm in body, do willingly assign my soul to God, who gave it, and after my decease I order that my body be decently and humbly consigned to its last resting place in St. Marys Cemetery, Moreover, I bequeath all my worldly goods and property ,that is to say, my house and lot and all appurtenances thereto to my lawful wife, Catherine Beattie, and if my son Thomas is satisfied to have the ptoperty at a fair value, my wife is bound to let him have it on these terms and to give him the first preference, and if she dies in possession of the property, it is after her death to revert to my son,Thomas, but she, my wife, has full power to sell or dispose of it during her lifetime. If my son Thomas does not want it at a fair price, then she may dispose of it to the highest and best advantage.
