Last Will and Testament of Philip Rouzer, deceased.

The last Will and Testament of Philip Rouzer of Moon Township in the County
of Allegheny & state of Pennsylvania.

I Philip Rouzer, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being
of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament
in manner and form following viz; commit my soul unto the hands of God who
gave it, and my body to the dust, to be interred in a decent and Christian
like manner in hope of a glorius resurrection, and after all my just debts
and funeral expenses are paid, I give and bequeath unto my son Adam Rouzer
and his heirs the farm on which I now live with the appurtenances lying
chiefly North of the Beaver road running from a stone corner on the line of
James Ewings land along the line of Margaret Sutton's land and continuing on
along said Beaver road to Sampsons line, and including all on the Northern
side of this line together with all my personal property, on the farm and in
the house, the said Adam Rouzer paying all my just debts and funeral expenses
and also the further sum of two hundred and seventy five dollars to be
distributed in the manner hereinafter directed, but should the said Adam to
die without issue then my will is and I do order that at the death of the
said Adam Rouzer and the death of his wife, the land hereby bequeathed to him
shall decend to the children of Philip Rouzer Jr. and to the children of
Alexander Rouzer share and share alike as tenants in common and not as joint
tenants. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Alexander Rouzer, his heirs and
assigns, the farm on which he now lives, lying on the southern side of the
Beaver road, running from a stone corner between Margaret Sutton and him on
the Beaver road Eastwardly along said road to Sampsons line, he the said
Alexander Rouzer paying therefor the sum of two hundred and seventy five
dollars, to be applied as hereinafter directed, Item I give and bequeath unto
my Son Joseph Rouzer the sum of two hundred dollars, to be paid within three
years after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Philip Rouzer
the sum of two hundred dollars to be paid in five years after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret Doughty the sum of one
hundred and fifty dollars, to be paid in one year after my decease; It is my
will and I do order that the above legacies which is to be paid in money is
to be paid out of the money to be paid by my two sons, Alexander and Adam and
that each shall pay the one half of each legacy as it fall due, and I do
hereby appoint and ordain my Sons Alexander Rouzer and Adam Rouzer executors
of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me
made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty
second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
fifty three.

Signed, sealed, published, and declared by the above named Philip Rouzer to
and for his last will testament, in the presence of us, who have hereunto
subscribed our names as witnesses thereto, in the presence of the said
testator and at the presence of each other.

W. G. Smith Allegheny Co. SS Be it known, that on the 24th day of AD 1854,
personally before me Samuel Lightner Dep. Register for the Probate of Wills,
gc, in and for said County George Morrison and W. G. Smith, the subscribing
witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing and being duly sworn, did
depose and say that they saw and heard the Testator Philip Rouzer sign,
publish and declare it as being of and for his last Will and Testament; that
at that time of so doing he was of sound mind and disposing memory to the
best of thier observation and belief; and that at his request and in his
presence, they subscribe thier names as witness thereto. Given under my hand,
the above date.

Be it known that on the 24th day of October AD 1854 letters testamentary,
with the will and annexed, upon the estate of Philip Rouzer deceased were
granted unto Alexander Rowzer and Adam Rowzer, executors in said will named
were duly sworn well and truly to administer the goods and chattels, rights
and credits which were of said deceased; to make a true inventory and
consionable appraisement of personal property, and file the same in the
Registrars Office within thirty days from the date hereof; to settle an
account of their administration in one year of when thereto legally required;
and to comply with the provisions of the several acts of Assembly relating to
Collateral Inheritances.
