Brown buwbrown@concast.net July 20, 2008, 1:49 pm Report of the Visiting Committee, House of Refuge for Western Pennsylvania at Morganza, Pa.: The mother of Charles and John Cassidy, who were applied for by their father William Cassidy of Oregon City some weeks since, was at the House during the past week. She is anxious to have the boys discharged to her. Says her husband left her 12 years ago and ran off with another woman, and has never done anything to support her or the children since then. She resides in Ohio and is able to take care of the boys. They have been in the House over 4 years,- are bad boys and but little hope of reformation.Your Committee and the Superintendent believe it would be for the interest of the Institution to let the mother take the boys with her.
