Brown buwbrown@concast.net July 20, 2008, 1:14 pm Report of the Visiting Committee, House of Refuge for Western Pennsylvania at Morganza, Pa.: Charles Housebech, who escaped Dec. 3, 1862, was returned to the House of Refuge on last Monday by his father. He will be 16 Feby. 15, 1863. Was committed Nov. 27, 1861 for stealing. His father, Charles Housebech keeps a furniture store on Federal Street, Allegheny, and applies to have his son discharged, as he is anxious to have him at home in his store. Was in Class No. 4 when he escaped; never was higher than No. 3. Your Committee in connection with the Superintendent recommend that on his release from confinement he be not reduced in standing but returned to Class No. 4, as a reward for coming back at the instance of his father.
