Mr. William Casidy (sic) of Oregon City, Oregon, by the accompanying letter applies for his two sons, Charles W. Cassidy, aged then 9 years & 10 months, and John W. Cassidy, aged then 8 years, committed Oct. 21, 1858 on information of mother. Father and mother appeared to be separated - the mother is now in Kentucky (Kentucky crossed out)Gallipolis, Ohio. She lived in Pittsburgh at time of commitment. They are bad boys below class no. 6. John was at one time in Class No. 1 but Charles never above Class No. 4. They say that their father went to California 12 years ago - The oldest would not like to go to his father, but the youngest would be willing to. Both want to go to their mother.
