Indictment of larceny and receiving stolen goods brought against William Doran on Jan. 30, 1900. Defendant pleaded not guilty on Feb. 6, 1900. Tried by jury and found guilty on Feb. 10, 1900. Sentenced to Pennsylvania Reform School until he attain age of 21 years. Additional Comments: Notes made at time of the boy's arrival at Pennsylvania Reform School, Morganza: William Doran, No. 5848. Parents living in West End, Pittsburg, Pa. Father William Doran a mill worker. Sent here for receiving money from a darkey who had stolen it from the telephone machine at B. & O. Depot. Description: height 4' 9 1/2"; weight 85 pounds. Brown hair, blue eyes, medium complexion, pug nose & some freckled. Cross (pink) and initials in black W.D. in India ink on left forearm. Spot near base of thumb right hand. One vaccine mark on left arm. Age 13 (no birth date given); received Feb. 13, 1900. Born in Penna. of Irish parentage. Catholic. Neither parent intemperate; parents do not own property. 3 older brothers, 3 older sisters, 2 younger sisters. Illiterate. Swears, lies, steals. Does not use tobacco, is not intemperate.
