Brown buwbrown@comcast.net July 22, 2008, 11:48 am Complaint made before B.M. Kenn, Police Magistrate of City of Pittsburgh by John Considine, father of Michael Considine. John Considine deposes that he is the father of Michael Considine and resides now at the Little (illegible word)) of the Poor in Allegheny City. That the boy's mother is dead & he was left with his aunt, Mrs. Susan Sweeny, & that he now refuses to live with her after he had lived 12 years with her; refuses to obey her or me. Susan Sweeny states that she resides at the corner of Stevenson & Vickroy Street, Pittsburgh, and has had charge of said infant since he was 2 years old and is willing yet to care for him but he will not obey me. Goes away from home & stays away with bad company, refuses to go to school & is continually in company of bad boys. John A. Considine says that he is a brother of said infant & has tried to get the boy to do better but he will insist on staying out at night and going in bad company. Will not obey anyone. Additional Comments: Notes made at Pennsylvania Reform School upon the boy's arrival: Michael Considine, #5572, Division D. Mother dead. Father John Considine lives at Little Sisters of the Poor, Washington St., Pittsburgh, Pa. Boy has been living with an aunt, Mrs. Susan Sweeney, at corner of Stevenson & Vickroy Sts. Sent him for disobedience and running away from his aunt's. Description: Height, 5 ft. Weight: 103 pounds. Light brown hair, blue eyes, medium complexion, small scar to right of right eye. Four vaccine marks on left arm. Aged 13 on Dec. 4, 1898. Received Aug. 22, 1898. Born Pa.; parentage, Irish. Attends Catholic Church. Father not intemperate, mother not intemperate. 1 older brother, 1 younger brother; 2 older sisters. Can read & write. Swears, lies, steals, uses tobacco.
