Brown buwbrown@comcast.net September 8, 2008, 11:38 am Complaint made before R. McKenna, Police Magistrate of Pittsburgh, by Belle Moncrieff, mother of Roy Moncrief, born Dec. 4, 1887. She resides at 38 Jennetta (Jeanette) Street, 13th Ward Pittsburgh. Her son refuses to obey her and stays from home, will not go to school. He has been arrested by the police & brought to the station house. He will not come home for nights at a time. Mrs. Annie Loury deposes that she resides at 2507 Hallet, 13th Ward; same Mrs. Rose Duffy of 5 Conkling, Ward 13, deposes same. Additional Comments: Notes made at time of the boy's arrival at Pennsylvania Reform School at Morganza: Roy (written Rog) Moncrief, #5695, Division B: Father dead. Mother, Mrs. Belle Moncrief, is employed in Machett's box factory. Living at 38 Janetta Street, Pittsburgh. Sent here for staying out at night & not going to school. Description: Height 4' 6 1/2"; weight 71 pounds. Dark hair, mottled gray eyes, dark complexion. Scar from a lancing below left ear. Two vaccin marks on left arm. Age 13 on Dec. 4, 1899; received June 5, 1899. Born in Penna. of American parents. Catholic. Mother not intemperate, owns no property. 1 younger brother, 1 younger sister. Can read & write.
