Complaint made before Henry Eynon, Alderman of Allegheny County, by Sophia 
Holtzman, mother of Adam Holtzman, a minor.  He will not do anything whatever 
he is told to do, runs away from home, and will not go to school.  
Uncontrollable. (signed) Sophia Holtzman, corner Schaffer & Ridge St., 
Pittsburgh
   Mrs. Mollie Mathias deposes that the mother has a good home for the boy, but 
he don't seem to care anything about his mother.  He runs away from home and 
will not go to school.  Incorrigible & uncontrollable.  (signed) Mrs. Mollie
Mathis, 2522 Webster Ave., Pittsburg
    Separate testimony, given the following day: George Holtzman, father of 
Adam Holtzman, deposes that Adam runs away from home with bad companions and 
will not go to school.  Will not do anything he is told.  (signed) George 
Holtzman, Ridge & Shafer St., Pittsburg

Notes made at time of the boy's arrival at Pennsylvania Reform School, Morganza:
   Adam Holtzman, No. 5688, Division C.  Parents living at Cor. Ridge & 
Schaeffer St., Pittsburg, Penna.  Father George Holtzman a shearman at Corbin 
Steel Works.  
   Sent here for not going to school, running away from home.
   Description: height, 4' 9 1/2"; weight, 89 pounds.  Dark hair, blue eyes, 
medium complexion, pug nose.
   Age: 11 on Mar. 16, 1899; received May 22, 1899.  Born in Germany of German 
parents.  Lutheran.  Father & mother not intemperate; own property.  1 older 
brother, 3 younger brothers.  Can read & write.  Swears, lies.  Does not steal 
or use tobacco; is not intemperate.  Has not been arrested before.
